Assistant Manager, Information Technology

St. Albert Public Schools,

St. Albert Public Schools, a publicly funded jurisdiction that serves approximately 8,800 students in 16 schools, is seeking a self-motivated individual to work as an assistant manager in the operations of the divisions Information Technology department.

SALARY: $85,000 per annum

*this is an out of scope position

START DATE: January 4, 2022

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate multiple projects and work closely with all levels of division staff in the planning and execution of division programs, applications, and systems

Coordinate requirements between school and division office as well as internal technical and project teams or personnel for numerous projects and systems

Assist in the development of system requirements in partnership with parents, students, school, division office, and other government and vendor stakeholders

Design, implement and troubleshooting of network infrastructure to support a QOS deployment

Advancing technical directions and providing creative solutions and design recommendations in areas such as cloud computing, backup, disaster recovery, information security and future technology planning

Providing technical support or training for various systems and networks

Assist with the supervision and support of other school and division technical staff

Acts in accordance with all division policiesQUALIFICATIONS

5+ Years of IT Systems experience, particularly in a K – 12 educational setting

2+ Years in a supervisory role

Strong knowledge of network design and hardware including Meraki wireless technologies, Cisco and HPE network switches, routers, and related technologies.

Strong experience with cloud network and software technologies

Proven experience with Veeam backup and data management solutions

Proven experience in a Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, AD, Intune and Azure environments

Proven experience in a Google GSuite environment and/or Google Cloud environment

Proven experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications

Proven experience supporting educational programs and systems such as PowerSchool, PowerSchool Atrieve, school transportation/bussing applications and other educational/financial systems.

Advanced written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to relate to a range of stakeholders

Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and advise staff in area of expertise

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to be innovative in identifying solutions

Good research and analytical skills.
